ARTEMETHER LUMEFANTRINE TABLETS

DESCRIPTION:
Artemether and lumefantrine combination belongs to a group of medicines known as anti-malarials. It treats malaria, a red blood cell infection transmitted by the bite of a mosquito. The chemical name for Artemether is (1R,4S,5R,8S,9R,10S,12R,13R)-10-methoxy-1,5,9-trimethyl-11,14,15,16-tetraoxatetracyclo[10.3.1.0^{4,13}.0^{8,13}]hexadecane, the molecular formula is C16H26O5 and molecular weight is 298.379 g/mol. The chemical name for Lumefantrine is 2-(dibutylamino)-1-[(9Z)-2,7-dichloro-9-[(4-chlorophenyl)methylidene]-9H-fluoren-4-yl]ethan-1-ol, the molecular formula is C30H32Cl3NO and molecular weight is 528.942 g/mol.

INDICATIONS:
BIONART-DS (artemether/lumefantrine) Tablets are indicated for treatment of acute, uncomplicated malaria infections due to Plasmodium falciparum in patients of 5 kg bodyweight and above. BIONART-DS have been shown to be effective in geographical regions where resistance to chloroquine has been reported.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
BIONART-DS (Artemether & Lumefantrine) Tablets are contraindicated in persons with a history of hypersensitivity associated with the use of artemether, lumefantrine, or to any of the excipients of BIONART-DS.

STORAGE: Store in a cool dry place below 25°C, protect from light.
